I am a forty-one year old lady. I had a good life. Back in 2003
I got crohns disease. 12 pills a day. In 2004 I came down with I.B.S.
nine more pills a day. I thought that would be bad enough. Now it
is 2005, July of 2005 I was told by an ER doctor, Joann you have H
I V. I take 23 pills a day, I was with the same person for 12 years,
think you know someone. I think not, anyways all of these friends"
meaning "crohns and IBS Also HIV. people think I am crazy for
calling them my best friends.
Disease you can look at them as something that will break you, or
look at them as I do. You see my new friends are always gonna be with
me for the rest of my life. I need to keep them close,. Deal with
as friends, not something I hate. I hate the fact that I have them.
In the beginning I thought I was not fit to be loved. Why? Look what
12 years of love gave me. Now I can that family will be with me for
the rest of my life, just not as close as they used to.
Those three letters HIV. I look at them DIFFERENT. Now that I have
them, my life will go on just in a different manner. I am still learning
to deal with this I just do not know if I am coming or going. I need
to keep on the right path and do what I have to do. Just to keep up
in life so I have to take 23pills a day for crohns, IBS, and HIV,
that is what I must do. I have almost 6 grandkids 5 of my own I will
be here for all of them. No, I feel the need to go for them.
